Global Switch Agrees to Sell Australia Holdings to HMC Capital for A$2.12 Billion
Global Switch, a leading owner and operator of large-scale data centres, has agreed to sell its Australia Holdings Ltd for A$2.12 billion to HMC Capital on October 24, 2024. This transaction allows Global Switch to fully realise the value of its economic interests in Global Switch Australia and is expected to close in late 2024 or early 2025. The proceeds from the sale will be used to strengthen the company's balance sheet and provide capital for growth opportunities in new and existing markets. The company has performed strongly in the year to date, capitalising on the growth of AI and high-performance computing demand. The transaction is subject to approval from Global Switch’s Revolving Credit Facility and Term Loan banks.
