On March 27, 2024, Lendlease and Princeton Digital Group (PDG) announced the completion of the first phase of TY1, one of Japan's largest data center campuses, located in Saitama City, 30km north of central Tokyo. The six-story, 48 MW facility, built over an area of 33,000 square meters, is the first project delivered under the Lendlease Data Centre Partners fund and PDG's first data center in Japan. The project's gross development value will exceed A$750 million for Lendlease, with PDG investing US$1 billion over the project's lifespan. The TY1 data center, designed to serve high-density rack deployments for AI and cloud companies, is set to be operational in Q4 2024. The facility is built with sustainability in mind, utilizing stored rainwater and native or adapted plant species, and is targeting LEED certification.
