Global Switch, a leading operator of large-scale data centres, announced on November 14, 2023, that the Open Compute Project (OCP) has granted Stage 1 of its new Amsterdam East data centre OCP Ready™ status. The OCP Ready™ programme helps end users identify data centres where OCP IT equipment can be deployed at scale. The first stage of Global Switch Amsterdam East, launching in Q1 2024, achieved high ratings in key categories such as electrical and cooling. The new data centre, offering 32,000 sq m of space, meets the guidelines of OCP Ready™ by providing high density space with high structural imposed floor loading capacity. It is designed to accommodate high-performance computing needs with a capacity of 2MW per suite and contiguous space of 4MW.
